The World An Obstacle Course

The world in which we live is somewhat like an obstacle course. Satan and the world system set up the obstacles for living for the Lord. The obstacles will stop an unbeliever, so if you make it through, you are a believer. You are not saved by making it through. You make it through because you are saved. God will get His own through the obstacles of life. God allows them. One more thing though, and that is that God also causes some of these obstacles. When God causes them, they are tests. He doesn’t tempt any man, but He brings tests or trials in a believer’s life for the purpose of helping the believer. God allows Satan to bring these, and it really is mainly His allowing Satan and the world system to bring these obstacles. However, the true believer will get through them. I am expecting all sorts of obstacle in 2021. We are to our second Sunday of the year. I think things are going right now the best they have in the entire short history of this church. Whether they will get even better relates to what you do with this time. Don’t take three steps backward now that you’ve taken two steps forward. Neither should you rest in your laurels. Move forward from here. We’ve got a long ways to go. I’m telling you that I’m pushing it right now myself. I want to keep reading and studying the Bible. I plan on reading the Bible twice through this year. You don’t have to do that, but I want you to know that I’m doing that. I’m going to pass out 500 of the 2,000 printed packets myself. That leaves 1,500 for everyone else. I plan on our putting together 2,000 more. I want to contact every possible contact we can. I want to spend time with all of you and see the spiritual growth of all of you. Think about what it will mean to you, what you will do, what you will add. Then just be faithful to it. Face the obstacles and get through them.

From Birth to Resurrection

At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Christ. On Resurrection Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. The one event requires the other, yet both required God’s giving His Son. John 3:16 says,
