Sing! The Lord Has Won the Victory.
When the Lord triumphs, when He gets the victory, He is worthy to be praised. The Lord gained the victory when He saved your soul. The Lord triumphed in Exodus 15 when He led Israel across the Red Sea and drowned the entire Egyptian army. Israel was trapped: the sea was in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them, but the Lord delivered with His mighty hand. “Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea” (Ex. 15:1). We too ought to praise the Lord in song for His victory in our salvation.
Notice that the praise was in the form of song. Songs are wonderful opportunities to lift up the greatness of God to God, from your heart and with beauty. Only God could deliver you from the burden of sin and from the wages of sin. Only God could set you free from the captivity to sin. Only God could rescue you from the power of the devil. Sing to the Lord for His marvelous victory in saving your soul!
Sing heartily. Sing vigorously. Sing loudly. Sing as though the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ delivered you. Sing as though you were desperate with no way of escape, only one breath away from hell. Sing as though you were completely unworthy, but God had compassion on you. Sing as though the Lord was faithful to His promise to receive all who come to Him. Sing as though He completely conquered the spiritual enemy in saving you. Sing as though you now have an eternal home with Christ and eternal fellowship with Christ. Sing as though the most wonderful thing happened to you when the Lord saved you.
When you come to church, be ready to praise the Lord in song for your deliverance.
When you are at home, praise the Lord for your deliverance. When you are walking along the way, praise the Lord for your deliverance. Sing! The Lord has won the victory.
