"...I will in no wise cast out."

The Lord is infinitely more powerful than anyone else. His Word can penetrate into the hardest of hearts. When God says that His Word will not return unto Him void, it means just that: it will never return without accomplishing its intended work. God’s Word is powerful. God is powerful.

God has a way of breaking people down, of stripping away their pride, their image, and their self-reliance. He has a way of bringing people to themselves, of bringing them so low that they can only look up. When they do look to God, they see a good, loving, merciful, forgiving God. If they will turn to Him in repentant faith, He will graciously and marvelously save them.

Whom will Christ save? Anyone who truly calls upon His name, depending on Him and turning to Him. And that could be someone you least expect. It could be someone with a hardened past. It could be someone with a religious past. It could be someone who previously claimed to be saved. It could be someone you have known for years. It could be someone you just met. Nevertheless, the glorious words of Jesus ring out and encourage us: “And him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out” (Jn. 6:37).

Christ the King

The birth of Christ, as recorded in Matthew, begins with a genealogy. Often genealogies in the Bible get overlooked because the list of names is (by and large) unfamiliar and seemingly insignificant.
