It's Good to Be Liberal...

Proverbs 11:25 “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” Solomon had wealth beyond any in his day; he also had wisdom. This wise king tells us that when we give, the Lord will take care of us. It is giving to others; but first and foremost, it is giving to God. It is good to be liberal ... in giving.

Faith gives to the Lord out of obedience and out of faith. When you give to the Lord, He will take care of you. In Malachi 3:10 the Lord says, “Prove me now herewith.” The people in that day weren’t giving to God; they were holding on to their firstfruits, as though if they gave, they would have less. This way of handling money fails to trust the goodness of God.

The Lord can take care of you better than you can take care of you. Again, the Lord says, “Prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Do you believe that?

The Bible is clear in its principles about giving: “Give, and it shall be given unto you” (Lk. 6:38). Trust the Lord in your giving, in your tithes and offerings, which would include giving to missions, and in your giving to others, especially in the church. The Lord will take care of you.
