All Because of Resurrection

The resurrection of Christ is essential to our salvation. The Resurrection is part of the gospel: the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Without the resurrection, there is no gospel and no salvation. The Apostle Paul wrote in I Corinthians 15:17, “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.” Because of the resurrection, we can be saved.

The resurrection of Christ demonstrated the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul said that the Lord Jesus was “declared to be the Son of God with power…by the resurrection from the dead” (Rom. 1:4). In defeating sin, death, and hell, Jesus is declared to be the all-powerful Son of God. Since Christ defeated death in His resurrection, we can defeat death.

The resurrection enables our justification. Romans 4:25 states that The Lord Jesus “was raised for our justification.” Christ sits at the right hand of God as our living Savior ready to impute to us His everlasting righteousness the moment we believe on Him, all because of the resurrection.

The resurrection also guarantees our own resurrection. “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (I Cor. 15:20). Because Christ rose, we will rise (if you are saved). His glorious body becomes the image of our future glorified body—because Christ arose.
